I’ve been in advertising and marketing all my adult life and I love to hear how other people market. I’m always asking my potential customers how they market and i’m quick to offer tips even when they don’t include selling them my product/service. I ask if i can call back to see how things are going – ask the best days/times to do this. When you do call back, be sure you adhere to their preferred call-back times.
On the other hand, if you need an additional presentation of logos due to a complete change in direction on the companies part, there should be an extra fee. An example would be asking for a yellow duck logo design and changing your mind to a red dog design once the logos are presented to you.
Here in the Phoenix area we’re lucky to have such a high tech hub. Many internet marketing agencies and advertising agencies call Phoenix home, which is perfect for area restaurants. Partner up with high tech influencers and bloggers in your city.
One of the dangers of going global and earning in dollars but thinking in rupees is in the expenditure incurred on publicity material. In the early days our marketing office in the US would propose buying some ball pens for distribution at a trade show. They told us that it would ‘just’ cost a dollar a piece. Sitting in Hyderabad we would convert it in to rupees and exclaim, “What, Rs 40 for an ordinary ball pen! Forget it, we will send it from India where it costs only Rs 3”. Unfortunately, our ball pens were no match to the Chinese ones available there in a nice packing and qualitatively superior to ours. It was the same thing with T-shirts, stickers, leaflets and exhibition panels. Soon, better sense prevailed and we bought material in the local markets overseas.
7) People perceived Satyam more as a body shopping company than a serious IT player (this was actually an unfair charge as at that time most Indian IT companies were actually just that).

People are buying the experience and the perception of the brand. I am sitting here writing this article in a busy Starbucks and people watching when i could be in the quiet and seclusion of my nice hotel room. The person in the seat next to me is listening to music on an iPod when they could obviously do it for free in the Square with a less expensive cup of coffee. The gentleman in the big living room type chair is reading a novel. People want the experience. Understand your customer and the value they want and the money will become less important. The big three U.S. auto manufacturers give huge rebates, and imports are still kicking their butts. It’s not about the money.
